We are a collective of sewers based in South-East London. We specialise in custom orders of sustainable products made from locally sourced fabrics. We are a diverse team from design, costume and fashion industry backgrounds that have gravitated to MFEP out of a desire to work for an ethical, community focussed, not for profit organisation. MFEP was born during the Covid pandemic out of a need to provide face masks for local bus drivers that were not being provided with the protection they needed, we started as a small group of volunteers. Later we collaborated with the wonderful organisation Every Doctor, making thousands of masks to support NHS workers. Post-Covid we decided to keep our sewing machines busy and evolve ‘Masks for Extraordinary People’ to ‘Made for Extraordinary People’.
